Project Overview
Metalflowerbox is a Dutch manufacturer of custom metal planters and biophilic design products room dividers, wall greening systems, even a planter with integrated speaker sound. The catalog spans several genuinely distinct product lines (Native wall greening, three room divider variants, Floraglow lighting, MFB Sound), all custom-made and often quoted rather than bought off a shelf. The site needed to make a fairly technical, made-to-order manufacturing business feel as elegant as the actual products.
The Challenge
With this many product lines each with its own sizes, finishes, and use cases (office, home, architects, urban balconies) the real risk was the catalog turning into a confusing wall of near-identical green boxes. Visitors needed to find their specific use case (office room divider vs. outdoor facade planter vs. home lighting) quickly, without wading through the entire product range first.
Sustainability is also core to the actual business recycled metal, a Product Carbon Footprint certificate, EU and provincial recognition and that needed real estate on the site substantial enough to matter to the B2B, architect, and sustainability-conscious audience actually buying custom greenery solutions, not just a small badge in a footer.
Our Strategy
We organized the catalog by clear use case rather than just product name room dividers, wall greening, lighting, custom/maatwerk so an office manager looking for acoustic privacy solutions and an architect looking for a facade planter each land on the right section immediately, instead of scrolling through the entire range.
We gave the sustainability credentials (recycled metal, PCF certificate, EU recognition) a dedicated section with a direct certificate request option, treating it as a genuine selling point rather than an afterthought since for this audience, verifiable environmental credentials are often a real purchasing factor, not just marketing language.
The showroom (Metalflowerbox Experience Center in Venlo) got a clear, inviting call-out too, since a physical, in-person product like this benefits enormously from an invitation to see and touch it before committing to a custom order.
Services Delivered
- Website development
- Multi-product-line catalog architecture
- Custom quote/catalog request system
- Sustainability and certification showcase
- Press and recognition section
- Showroom/experience center promotion
- Multilingual (Dutch) content structure
- Mobile-responsive build
Creative Process
A lot of the work was about restraint biophilic, nature-forward products can easily tip into overly poetic copy that says very little. We kept descriptions grounded in real specs (three available heights, waterproof, hydro or artificial planting options) right alongside the more evocative brand language, so the site read as credible to a B2B buyer, not just aesthetically pleasing.
Results
- Clear navigation across multiple distinct product lines
- Sustainability credentials positioned as a genuine differentiator
- Direct PCF certificate request built into the site
- Showroom visit promoted as a natural next step
- Press recognition (regional media, EU/provincial sustainability recognition) integrated as trust signals
Conclusion
The site now organizes a genuinely wide, custom-manufactured product range into something a visitor can actually navigate while giving the sustainability story the prominence it deserves for an audience that cares about exactly that.
